The winemaker and his story

Welcome to Hacienda Araucano.

Chile is a paradise for vines thanks to the absence of disease and a stable, cool climate.

Although they have been producing Chilean wines since 1992, it was not until 2000 that François Lurton and his brother Jacques found the perfect location in the Colchagua Valley. They bought 200 hectares there (bringing together seven different owners from the same family), in an area which at the time had never been used for viticulture.

Today, the estate has 28 hectares of vines and Lolol and it has become a sought-after location for wine production.

Located on the “Ruta del Vino”, in a magnificent location, we are developing wine tourism on the estate to meet the growing number of wine lovers in the Colchagua Valley.
